ABOUT JUSTIN

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Justin has worked within the non-profit community for more than 15 years, currently as the Manager of Individual Giving & Development Communications for Manhattan Theatre Club, a premiere non-profit Broadway and Off-Broadway theatre producing organization. Notable achievements include increasing turnout for the Young Patrons program events and revamping solicitation communications to achieve a 2% increase in response rate.

Previously, he was a Corporate Programs Specialist and then a Membership Specialist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where, among other proactive ideas, he distinguished himself by creating a training video series for membership team members to cut down on management training time.

Additionally, he was at OPERA America on the Artistic Services team where he managed professional development activities for artists, led the planning and execution for Emerging Artist Recital Series performances, curated the quarterly revolving Director/Designer exhibit, and helped with re-granting efforts. His overall work was integral to grant administration, programming, visa support, and performance production.

Other notable organizations he has worked with include ArtPlace America, The Clinton Foundation, Merkin Concert Hall at The Kaufman Center, New York Road Runners, Opera Philadelphia, and the now defunct Opera Singers Initiative.

A classically trained musician himself, Justin has performed with various choruses including Pittsburgh Summer Fest (formerly Opera Theater Pittsburgh), the Pittsburgh Opera, the New York City Master Chorale, Teachers College Chorus/Little Orchestra Society, Hampton University Choir/Concert Choir, and the New York Choral Society.

Beyond his work in the non-profit sector, Justin spent some time with Mansueto Ventures, the parent company of both Inc. and Fast Company magazines. Furthermore, he was a Co-Founder and the Marketing Lead for Climafy, a startup clean-tech company focused on affordable residential retrofits for homeowners.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hampton University, and a Master’s degree in Social-Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Outside of the office, Justin enjoys international travel, writing, movies, opera/Broadway shows, animation, culinary delights, and is an avid gamer.
